Subscribing, Billing and Paying

May I see a trial issue before I subscribe?

Yes. Just submit your name and email address using the form to the right, and we'll send you an electronic version of our newsletter text.

When does my subscription expire?

Your subscription expiration date is listed on your My Account page. Go to My Account and login; there you will see your subscription expiration date listed in bold type. You can renew by following instructions on that page.

May I arrange automatic billing?

Yes. If you pay with a credit card, we can charge that card annually until it expires. Please specify "automatic billing" when you subscribe.

May I give Passport as a gift?

Yes. Passport Newsletter makes a wonderful gift. Get all the details on our gift subscriptions page.

How can I subscribe from overseas?

It's easiest to subscribe online using a credit card, which will calculate the proper currency exchange into U.S. dollars (All prices on this site are U.S. dollars.) Also, overseas subscribers pay an additional $30 per year for international postage and special handling.

Holiday Orders

Why do you need my recipient’s email address?

In addition to the wonderful bonus book and monthly printed newsletter, which are delivered by traditional post, each subscription includes a complimentary digital edition, which is delivered electronically via email. Also, each subscriber has access to our archive of thousands of past reviews by using an individual password; the password is set up via email. And finally, once in awhile we like to send a little something extra to our subscribers (such as a new report about a vacation destination), and these are delivered by email.

Why do you need my recipient’s phone number?

If you have provided the recipient’s email address, then we do not need a phone number. If you cannot provide the recipient’s email address, then our courteous, well-trained customer service staff will call them to obtain it. We realize phone numbers are sensitive and we would rather not ask; but if you feel it’s the best way to obtain the email address for your recipient, then we are pleased to assist by making the call.

When will my recipient receive this gift?

If you order before December 1, 2008, we will hold your order and ship on or about December 1 so your gift arrival is well timed for the holidays. If you order before December 15, 2008, then (barring massive weather delays of postal service, etc.) your gift will be physically delivered by December 25, 2008. If you order on or after December 15, then your gift will be delivered electronically within 24 hours, with physical delivery of printed matter as soon as possible after that.

May I use the “sixth order free” offer for myself?

Yes. If you are a new subscriber, your subscription will begin at the same time as that of your recipients. If you are a renewing subscriber, then your subscription will be extended for another year. In the case of renewal, please use the area marked “Please enter your gift message” to let us know that you want your existing subscription extended, or call our customer service department for personal assistance.

My organization wants to give 250 subscriptions. Can we put our logo on the cover of our copies? Can we include a message from the organization? Who does the mailing?

Yes, you may add a logo and/or some custom text to the cover. For 100 or more subscriptions to a group of recipients, you may alter anything on the cover that appears in black ink over white space, with other material that uses black ink, for a relatively modest charge. Or, you may alter the color portions of the cover for a significantly higher charge. We offer individual quotes for this customization based on the specific needs of your organization.

We can also handle the mailing for you, and are happy to sign an agreement to assure the privacy and proper use of the names involved. Or, we can drop ship the subscriptions to you each month for you to address and mail. Please contact our customer service department for details.

Receiving Your Copy

Why didn't I receive the electronic edition?

Although we almost never hear this question, we thought we should answer it "just in case." Here are solutions to three potential causes:

  1. Your email service may have misidentified Passport Newsletter as "spam," and placed it in your junk mail folder. Fix this by adding www.passportnewsletter.com to your "approved" sender list, using the instructions or "help" zone from your email provider.
  2. There could be a clerical error in the email address we have on file for you. Please check and/or correct it at My Account.
  3. Finally, your subscription may have expired. Find out and renew starting at My Account.

If these methods don't solve the problem, please let our customer service staff know. Include your name and email address and we'll forward the latest edition of the newsletter to you.

Why didn't I receive the printed edition?

Again, this is rarely a problem, but if your issue did not arrive when you expected it, then please (a) check My Account to ensure our record of your address is correct; and (b) let our customer service staff know so we can send a replacement copy to you right away.
