Passport Newsletter Internships
Interested in an Intership?
Passport Newsletter offers a limited number of internships each year for currently enrolled college students who are studying Journalism, Marketing Communications, or similar topics and who wish to receive real-world, hands-on writing and fact-checking experience.
You’ll bridge the print and online publication worlds writing and editing material that appears in both forms.
Working under the guidance of our seasoned, world-class editor, you will learn about style, length, word usage, and writing for a specific audience. You’ll take source material provided by us and develop or update it for greater use, growing your talent for accuracy and description.
We’re looking for motivated, self-starting, smart students who can benefit from experience at an established publishing company that’s been in business for 46 years. Those who perform well will receive strong letters of recommendation from our management.
To qualify, you should meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled student who qualifies for the work/study program offered by your college or university
- Available for 4 or more hours of work per week from your residence
- Excellent written English skills
- Able to work without supervision to produce drafts for presentation to the editor
- Have on-going access to the Internet as well as a desktop or laptop computer
- Have the ability to be contacted by phone and email
- Reside in or near the Chicago area, with access to transportation for occasional scheduled meetings with our editor
- Responsible and reliable
- Helpful to have traveled internationally, but not necessary
This is an unpaid internship, coordinated with your college or university for college credits. The internship lasts for the full college or university term/semester and are guided by the work-study program rules at your educational institution.
