Dollars to Cents

Oh dear! With what’s happened to the dollar, I’m going to have to cut back on spa days and taxis to be able to afford my annual July trip to Paris for Sale Week.

I wonder how the drop in the value of the dollar has affected your travel. Are you giving up a planned trip, or going elsewhere? Please share your thoughts by clicking on the word "Feedback" below. (And you may sign your statement with an alias if you prefer.)

Dear Paula,

We're lucky that we can still afford to travel, although I have to say some of our appreciation has changed from pleasure to complaint when we look at the check for, say, two cups of coffee. On the other hand, who wants to give up Paris?

(It makes Starbuck's look like a bargain when we get back home.)

The bigger affect from our last trip to Paris, which was only a few weeks ago -- on one occasion my husband became so upset about the dollar that I think he's about to switch political parties. I would have predicted a great big tattoo before that!

Sincerely,
MaryAnn in Memphis

Does anyone know of good dollar values at the top end in Vienna or Prague? Looking at mid-September to early November time-frame.
