Who We Are

Passport Newsletter is the original “insider’s” report for upscale domestic and international travelers who want to know about the best in travel experiences. The print version of Passport Newsletter has been published since 1965 and continues today. By and large, our readers are both knowledgeable and sophisticated in their travel preferences. Their travel interests focus on the more unfamiliar or secluded places and on the little-known and elite in dining, shopping, accommodations, and cultural and adventure experiences. Regardless of their personal finances, they appreciate and understand the importance of receiving full value-for-money, at all levels of spending.

Many of the world's most experienced travelers have learned to trust the recommendations and opinions they get from Passport Newsletter. They know that we are not a travel agency, we have no financial interests in any of the subjects we write about and we pay for all of our own travel. Our only interest is in reporting truthfully to our subscribers. The reports that appear in Passport Newsletter are written by more than 60 seasoned journalists and writers stationed around the world, all of whom know they are expected to report candidly about what they observe. That alone is the basis of Passport Newsletter's four decades of success.

Passport’s excellence has been recognized in numerous travel and general publications including Conde Nast Traveler, Berlitz Travellers Guides, National Geographic Traveler, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Financial Times of London, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, SmartMoney and many more. Of most significance, however, are the testimonials we receive from travelers who have relied on Passport to point them in the right direction, to keep them from making costly mistakes and to enable them to see the world as travelers, not tourists.

“My wife and I consistently rely on Passport when traveling overseas, and have uniformly found its recommendations to be of great value. We particularly appreciate the up-to-date information on unusual things to see and places to stay. Passport is our constant traveling companion.”
